• Demosthenes G. Doumenis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1970. He received the B.Eng, (with honors) M.Sc.,and D.I.C. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College (ranked 1st in Europe and 5th in the world for Engineering and IT in 2005, see here), University of London, London, U.K., in 1991, 1992, and 1993, respectively.
     

  • Between 1993 and 1994, he was eventually serving in the Greek Army Headquarters, where (among other duties) he developed a large software program for the organisation of the Army's wireless systems.

  • Between 1994 and 2004,he has been with Intracom S.A., Athens, where he helped in the formation of the Company's DSP Laboratory. He was involved in the development and implementation of DSP architectures on FPGAs and VLSI for the majority of the Company's wireless networks.

  • Since 2005 he is a working on a number of national and EU projects.

  • His main interests lie in the field of software radio, coding techniques, synchronisation and detection algorithms and the general areas of digital communications and adaptive signal processing.

  • He has authored a number of technical papers, and he holds one Greek and one international patent (see separate section).

  • Mr. Doumenis is a member of the IEE, IEEE and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
